Dr. Thomas William Nielsen is an Assistant Professor at the University of Canberra, Australia. A member of the National Values Education Project Advisory Committee, he has served in several of the Australian Government values education projects (2004-2010). Dr. Nielsen advocates a ‘Curriculum of Giving’, his research showing that giving and service to others promote higher wellbeing and resilience in students – something much needed in a world with high depression and suicide rates (see key publications at: http://curriculumofgiving.wikispaces.com/Publications [1] )
